Doing our bit to help to drive employment for homeless people in Wolverhampton

For a few years, Tecman have been supporting Enterprise Homes Group, a local charity that works towards combating homelessness in Wolverhampton.

Enterprise works hard within the local community to help people rejoin society in a productive and valued way. By providing housing, coaching, friendship, and employment they give them back their self-worth, and therefore, help to get people off the streets for good!

Last summer, to help support their expansion and the valuable work they do we implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central free of charge for the charity so that they could look after their invoicing, purchase orders, and other financial transactions. On top of this, we also send them a monthly donation to help the charity to continue to deliver employment opportunities and ultimately work towards achieving its goal of making homelessness history.

Recently, Enterprise Homes Group have formed a community interest company called Regen Household CIC which sells affordable furniture and housewares and does competitive house clearances, all while helping to regenerate homeless lives. They have another company that also provides complete building services as well as work experience placements in trades. To provide these services they needed a van, so we volunteered to buy one for them as part of our ongoing commitment.

The van turned up on a job recently and the customer was heard exclaiming “here come the homeless guys!” And in many respects that is who the charity aspires to be: the guys who are taking the less out of homeless; ensuring everyone has a home and no one gets left behind. Their vision is to make homelessness history.
