Tecman partners with Bifrost

Introducing Bifrost: Tecman's new AI partner and Business Central game changer

Reading time: 2 - 4 minutes

What if a job that normally means a week digging through data could start with a question to your AI assistant? Or a repetitive task that eats a surprising amount of time every week could be automated with a 10-word prompt? That's the kind of AI we're interested in.

We're excited to announce Tecman's partnership with Bifrost, an 'AI bridge' built for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. It connects Business Central with Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude and other MCP-compatible tools, so your AI assistant can do more than talk about your business – it can work with Business Central to help you get things done.

And that's where things get really interesting: tasks that can take hours repeating the same, niggly process or days pulling together reports can suddenly look very different.

We've been waiting for something in the Business Central AI space that really makes us sit up and take notice. For us, Bifrost is it.

So, what does that look like in practice?

Think less “AI, tell me something interesting” and more “AI, help me get some actual work done”.

And we mean actual work.

Imagine you want to see which customer orders could be at risk because of stock or production shortages. Pulling that together could usually mean a day spent on reports. Bifrost can read stock, orders and production data together and flag those risks in minutes.

Or perhaps you want to save time releasing sales orders manually? Bifrost can release them for you, on an instruction as simple as: "Every morning, release all open orders that pass the credit check".

We've never been a fan of AI for the sake of it and that's why Bifrost makes so much sense for Business Central users. It's about cutting through the manual digging and spreadsheet wrangling that can often separate “I've got a question” from “I've got the answer”.

And crucially, it's not about opening the doors to absolutely everything in Business Central.

Each person works under their own existing Business Central permissions. Actions are logged in Business Central and organisations can choose fields that the AI can't access. Fundamentally, you aren’t sacrificing the data security you come to expect with Microsoft products.

Why we're partnering with Bifrost

If you've followed our Tecman Talks AI series or read our Field Notes blogs, you'll know we're big believers in actually putting AI to work.

We experiment. We test. We work out what's genuinely useful. And we're much more interested in practical applications and time saving than adding AI somewhere simply because we can.

That's why we've been calling Bifrost a game changer.

Not because it's another bit of AI to add to the tech stack, but because we can see where it could give people hours back. Less time ticking off admin-heavy tasks. Less time clicking through Business Central. Less time wrestling with Excel. More time doing something meaningful with the time – and answers – you get back.

What's next?

Tecman Cloud Control customers might have already seen Bifrost in action at one of our confidential AI previews earlier this year. And for anyone coming to Business Central Connect, this will be your chance to see it in action for the first – or maybe second! – time.

We'll be sharing plenty more about Bifrost over the coming weeks and months, including putting it through its paces ourselves and showing you what it can do with Business Central.

But the big question is simple: what's taking your team hours today that you'd rather hand over to AI? If you've got one of those “surely there must be an easier way to do this?” Business Central jobs, we want to hear about it.

Talk to us about Bifrost.
