With the economic outlook in a more promising position according to the IMF, unemployment at its lowest for 11 years and the manufacturing industry continuing to show growth, never has it been a better time to invest further in people, technology and the community says Wolverhampton-based Technology Management.

The firm, which started in the early 90s has gone from strength to strength, expanding it’s team year on year. It has recently appointed a further four graduates, drawn from both Wolverhampton and Birmingham, onto its Graduate Training Scheme, which is now in its fourth year.

“It’s essential to keep recruiting and retaining the brightest and best local graduates,” explains James Crowter, Managing Director of the 95-strong team based at St Marks.

He continued: “We have a talented pool of people on our doorstep. Firms like ours need to capitalise on that and reduce the risk of losing candidates to the bright lights of the big cities such as London and Manchester. Supporting our local economy and its success is at the very heart of our ethos and recruiting people from our locality reinforces our commitment to building a stronger Wolverhampton both economically and professionally.

Technology Management also understands the importance of staff retention and is participating in the ‘Great Places To Work’ staff survey and cultural audit.

James Crowter adds: “Recruiting staff can be a costly exercise and so ensuring that we retain staff is essential. But it’s not just about cost from a financial perspective. It’s also about customer continuity and providing our customers great service from an engaged, happy and consistent team, loving their job and enjoying where they work.

“Taking part in the survey will provide us with valuable feedback on what makes Technology Management a good place to work and help us make it a great place to work.

“It ensures we are committed to looking after our current staff and provide us with insight to be able to differentiate ourselves in attracting new staff. What’s more, the survey is benchmarked against other similar companies across the globe. Being able to compete on a global stage becomes even more important as we work with local companies that trade worldwide and can easily source and access technology from any city in the UK or country in the world.

“We cannot be complacent. Whilst business is going very well for us and we are in a great position where we are recruiting staff year on year, investing significantly in moving to bigger offices, it’s critical that we stay on top of our game and continually look at ways to keep strengthening and growing our business. People are our most valuable asset and certainly at the heart of our growth plans so it’s fundamental that it remains a top priority.”
