Graduate Dynamics 365 Developer

You will be joining a Microsoft Gold Partner based in the West Midlands who are one of the world’s leading partners for Microsoft Dynamics 365. Our 400 plus clients ranging in size from £5m to £1bn and include companies such as Costa Coffee, Gressingham Duck to Swish Building products & British Steel. You’ll find the products they make or distribute, in every major retail store.

Our expertise centres around Microsoft Dynamics Business Central/NAV which is a market-leading enterprise resource planning (ERP) software product which delivers an integrated suite of functionality targeted at managing small to medium-sized businesses.

Our graduate programme is now in its 7th year and market demand mean’s we need to expand our team again and share our decades of knowledge with fresh thinking future industry experts. This role is for a trainee Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central developer who will develop functional, interface and reporting requirements specified by our customers and needed for our ever-expanding product portfolio.

As such a Dynamics developer the role will involve learning many aspects of business process from finance, inventory, supply chain management and warehouse management, across all sectors within our predominantly distribution and manufacturing customer base. The role will be particularly suited to someone interested in business processes and improving efficiency and productivity.

Applicants will be expected to complete a defined combination of internal and external classroom training, Microsoft self-study learning material and on the job experience. Typically, successful candidates will progress within 2 years and the best will attain a senior developer or solution architect role within 5 to 8 years. Progression is based on ability and reliability rather than the length of service.

Principle duties

  • Developing new/changed requirements for new and existing customers.
  • To provide assistance to and participate in the support team.
  • To become an expert in VSCode and AL development, Test Libraries, PowerShell, Docker, TFS, GIT & DevOps.

The person

A degree, ideally Computer Science / Computing for Business / IT or Business degree with programming experience. The candidate should have demonstratable experience in at least one programming language and a strong understanding of the principles and methodologies need in the development lifecycle.

Working hours/holidays

  • Working Hours: Full time, 08:45 - 17:15 with one hour for lunch
  • 20 days annual holiday per annum
  • 8 additional days for bank/public holidays
