Upcoming Changes to Dynamics 365 CRM: Sales Usage Reports Deprecation

Upcoming changes to Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM: sales usage reports deprecation - what you need to know and how to prepare

Reading time: 2 - 3 minutes

As part of ongoing updates to Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM, we want to make you aware of an important change coming soon. From 1st December 2025, the sales usage reports functionality in Dynamics 365 CRM will be deprecated. This means that after this date, you will no longer be able to access historical metrics or key performance indicators for contacts, accounts, leads, or opportunities.

What are sales usage reports?

Sales usage reports gave managers insight into system activity, showing how often records were created, updated or deleted, almost like an inbuilt Power BI dashboard. They were a quick way to monitor data quality and user engagement without building custom dashboards.

Will Microsoft’s support for sales usage reports end as soon as the depreciation happens?

Yes, support will end as soon as the deprecation happens. If you’re still using it, we suggest you start looking at other options now, so you don’t run into problems with your reporting later on

What support is available for making the transition from sales usage reports?

If you’ve been utilising the sales usage report feature and are wondering what to do next, support is available. Microsoft has provided a free sample Power BI report as a starting point. Our team can help you get started and even create a tailored solution that meets your specific needs. This change is also an opportunity to customise reporting in ways that weren’t possible with the built-in sales usage reports.

If you’re a Tecman customer, contact your Customer Engagement Manager for help with this transition. If you’re not a Tecman customer and need guidance, get in touch today – we’re happy to help.
